MicStay Privacy Policy

MicStay collects no data. None. It is a menu-bar utility that keeps the microphone you chose as your default audio input. It does this using the system's own audio-device controls, the same ones you would use by hand.

What MicStay does not do

• It does not access, record, or listen to your microphone. It only switches which device is the default input; there is no capture, so macOS never even shows a microphone-permission prompt.
• It has no analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or tracking of any kind.
• It makes no network connections. Nothing leaves your Mac.
• It does not create an account, and it never asks you to sign in.

What stays on your Mac

Your settings, which device you pinned and your preferences, are stored locally on your Mac by macOS. They are never transmitted anywhere.

In-app purchase

MicStay Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes the transaction; MicStay never sees your payment details. See Apple's privacy policy for how Apple handles purchases.
